Our annual awareness fundraiser, White T-Shirt Day is back again this year for the second edition!
Taking place on Tuesday, 27 March 2018, schools and businesses are encouraged to wear a white t-shirt to show that they support the independence and rehabilitation training of blind and partially sighted people.
Each student and staff member participating in White T-Shirt Day will receive a unique T-Shirt sticker for either R5.00 or R10 .
All proceeds raised by the participating schools and businesses will be used to provide critical rehabilitation and independence skills services to our adult and children blind and partially sighted clients. A portions of the funds raised will also be used to purchase specialised equipment for our clients, such as the white cane, which is a key tool used by blind people leading independent lives.
If your school or business is interested in taking part in this unique event, and would like to find out more, contact our PR & Awareness Coordinator, Cashelle McLean at email@example.com or call us on 041 487 1150.
Our annual Gratitude Teas are our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the wonderful individuals, organisations and companies that contribute to our organisation during each financial year. Without theirs and your continuous support our organisation would not be able to grow the leaps and bounds that it has, and that it continues to do.
Why not spend your 67 minutes of service for Mandela Day at our organisation interacting, teaching and learning from our inspiring members.
Many businesses get involved with our organisation on Mandela Day by using their 67 minutes to help maintain the infrastructure of our building, provide care parcels to our members, donate dog food for our members with guide dogs or plan an inclusive activity that brings their team and our members together for an hour of learning and sharing experiences.
We would love to have your business be apart of Mandela Day 2018 at the Nkosinathi Foundation and help us Break the Barriers of Blindness.
If you are interested in partnering with us for Mandela Day 2017 or you would like to get involved in any way contact our PR and Awareness Coordinator, Cashelle McLean at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at +27 41 487 1150.
The annual White Cane Charity Run is registered league race as well as fun run with the purpose to increase awareness of the white cane and its significance in the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
This eye opening, inclusive and fun event for the whole family includes a registered 10km league race, a 5km fun run or walk as well as the new White Cane Team Challenge(WCTC).
The WCTC is a walk-in-their-shoes event, where we invite corporates, families & friends, athletic clubs and the general public to enter a team, half of which walk the 2.5km route under blindfold with a white cane, and the other half of the team act as sighted guides.
This challenge is a life changing experience for all of those who participate, walking away with a glimpse into the journey a person with a visual disability takes to lead an independent life in a sighted world.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, would like to participate in the event, or would like to get involved in any way contact our PR and Awareness Coordinator, Cashelle McLean at email@example.com or call our office at +27 41 487 1150.
The Employment Readiness Programme graduation is a wonderful event that gathers together the hard working ER trainees, their loved ones, the programme trainers and the programme sponsors to celebrate their accomplishment of completing the intensive 10 month course, as well as to celebrate the start of their new professional journey.
If you would like to sponsor or contribute in anyway towards the programme or graduation, kindly contact our PR & Awareness Coordinator, Cashelle McLean at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our offices at 041 487 1150.
