The annual White Cane Charity Run is registered league race as well as fun run with the purpose to increase awareness of the white cane and its significance in the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
This eye opening, inclusive and fun event for the whole family includes a registered 10km league race, a 5km fun run or walk as well as the new White Cane Team Challenge(WCTC).
The WCTC is a walk-in-their-shoes event, where we invite corporates, families & friends, athletic clubs and the general public to enter a team, half of which walk the 2.5km route under blindfold with a white cane, and the other half of the team act as sighted guides.
This challenge is a life changing experience for all of those who participate, walking away with a glimpse into the journey a person with a visual disability takes to lead an independent life in a sighted world.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, would like to participate in the event, or would like to get involved in any way contact our PR and Awareness Coordinator, Cashelle McLean at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at +27 41 487 1150.
